When FutureProof Staffing launched last week, our Director Niki was contacted by Shortlist journalist, Camille Howard, to discover her story and why she chose to launch amid massive layoffs. Here’s the full article:

Former en world manager launches new business

Experienced recruitment manager Niki De Zilva has launched a new recruitment business, FutureProof Staffing, servicing the government, health and aged care, FMCG and logistical services sectors, based in Sydney.

The former manager of en world Australia’s accounting and corporate services division was made redundant in February, after Japan-headquartered En World closed its Australian operation.

De Zilva says she wants to use her experience, which includes management roles at Hays, to support other job seekers in similar circumstances.

“I’ve recently been made redundant myself, so I understand what it feels like, particularly if you have been performing well in the company you’ve been working in,” she tells Shortlist.

As well as offering employers the “full suite” of recruitment and outplacement services, FutureProof Staffing provides job seekers with career mentoring, professional resume writing and interview preparation coaching, to help make them more employable, De Zilva says.

“A normal agency doesn’t have the resources to be able to devote significant time to helping those applicants. I want our agency to be the one to give them the assistance they need in order to make their job goals more realisable.”

In the COVID-19 environment, De Zilva says now more than ever is the perfect time to launch, and she plans to increase headcount in line with demand.

FutureProof Staffing‘s philosophy is all about resilience, professional growth and adapting to market requirements. What better way to demonstrate our market leadership than to put on staff at a time when other companies are laying off?”
